Kelsey's Contribution...

Well Hello All!...I'm so glad that one of us actually did something about all of this "blogging" talk. I spend atleast an hour each day checking others' blogs and it's about time that our fab family start contributing to the craze. So...for anyone who is interested in what's going on in my life, here is a brief update:

* I'm living in Los Angeles fighting the daily traffic and taking every opportunity to spot a celebrity. (most recent sightings, Majic Johnson, Paula Abdual, Dolly Parton, Kevin Bacon, and Jeffrey from Project Runway.)

* I absolutely LOVE culinary school and have somehow avoided extreme weight gain. (thank goodness)

* I have a great job cheffing for a Jewish family in Beverly Hills. Their next door neighbors include Jack Nicholsen, Mischa Barton, and Dolly Parton. No big deal...right?

* I am happily dating a fantastic young man by the name of Robby who adores me from 700 miles away.

* I just auditioned for "The Next Food Network Star" and I'm a semi-finalist. (top 50) Keep your fingers crossed! I pulled both the youth card and the Mormon card...hopefully that nugged me into the YES pile. I shouldn't hear anything for the next 1-2 months, but if I'm selected, filming begins late January.
* I'll be completing my culinary internship at the Salt Lake Tribune working as a food editor during November-December. I'm also hoping to work part-time at Mrs.Backer's Bakery during the holidays. Lastly, I am also chasing a job with Sur La Table as the assistant culinary director at the Salt Lake Location. I'd be teaching cooking classes a few times each week and hosting private parties. Oh...I really want that one!

So pretty much, my life is at an interesting point...it's called TRANSITION. Bless my parents hearts for supporting me through the thick and thin. The term "reality bites" has brought on a whole new meaning lately. Rent, car payments, tuition, food, bills, etc. I think I'm just experiencing a form of "growing pains."

I'm thrilled that I'll be back in Utah for the holidays. I can't wait to throw fantastic holiday parties and spend quality time with those that I love most. I send you all my best and hope to see everyone soon! (p.s. I return in 42 days!)
